Person Centred Therapy

Person-centred therapy

Person or client-centred therapy is based on the view that everyone has the capacity for growth and change, given the right conditions. Rather than being seen as the expert and directing the therapy, the counsellor works to create a relationship where you feel safe, understood and accepted. Experiencing these conditions can help you come to terms with feelings, experiences and events and help you to heal, change and develop in your own way. Person centred therapy is an empowering form of therapy.

"WE THINK WE LISTEN,BUT VERY RARELY DO WE LISTEN WITH REAL UNDERSTANDING, TRUE EMPATHY. YET LISTENING OF THIS VERY SPECIAL KIND IS ONE OF THE MOST POTENT FORCES FOR CHANGE THAT I KNOW"

CARL ROGERS

COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY

When choosing a therapist it's really important to feel comfortable with your therapist, and to look at their approach to see if it is a good fit. It is a really good idea to ask questions and also to have a chat before arranging an initial appointment. It is also a good idea to check your therapists qualifications, experience and to ask if they are a member of a regulatory body.

You'll find more information in About Me .  You can learn more about choosing a therapist from BACP information.

Beginning therapy can be a big step toward being the healthiest version of yourself and living the best life possible—no matter what challenges you may be facing.
